You deserve a safe place to make sense of this transition.

After becoming a parent, you typically hit the ground running. There is so much to learn, so much to do, and so little time to pause and acknowledge the profound transformation taking place within you.

This transition is often referred to as matrescence—the psychological birth of a mother.

A space for mother, too

The After Birth Support Circle is a small, intimate space for anyone in the throes of matrescence—the psychological and identity shifts that accompany becoming a mother.

These groups are a counterpart to traditional mommy & me classes, which tend to be more didactic and focused on the child: development, sleep, schedules, and milestones.

Those practical matters may come up here, too. But the focus is different.

We take a deeper look at the transformation from maiden to mother—and give you space to talk about what that transformation feels like.

What might we talk about?

There is no required topic and no right way to participate. These are some of the experiences that may come into the room:

BIRTHING EXPERIENCE
Processing what happened, what you expected, and what you're still carrying.

SEX AFTER BIRTH
Intimacy, desire, connection, and the changes that can accompany parenthood.

BODY IMAGE
Navigating a body that may feel unfamiliar after pregnancy and birth.

IDENTITY AFTER BIRTH
Who you were, who you are now, and who you're becoming.

BREASTFEEDING CHALLENGES
The emotional and practical realities of feeding your baby.

RELATIONSHIP CHANGES
Discord with your partner, shifting roles, and finding your way back to one another.

RETURNING TO WORK
The emotions and questions that come with work, identity, and separation.

THE UNEXPECTED
The parts of motherhood you never knew to prepare for.

Not another mommy & me class.

There are plenty of places to learn about your baby's development, sleep, feeding, and schedules.

This is different.

The After Birth Circle is a place to focus on the person who is experiencing all of that change: you.

You don't need to arrive with a problem to solve. You don't need to have a diagnosis. And you don't need to have motherhood figured out.

You simply need a place to pause, reflect, connect, and be supported.

NO PERFORMANCE
You don't have to pretend you're doing fine.

NO COMPARISON
You don't have to measure your motherhood against anyone else's.

NO JUDGMENT
You can talk honestly about the complicated parts.

REAL CONNECTION
You get to be in the same space with other mothers who understand.

Testimonials

“Molly is wonderful! She has created a safe, nurturing, supportive space for new mothers going through the joys and challenges of the transition to motherhood. It has allowed me to connect with other moms on this journey and to know I am not alone. Truly a lifeline, I make this a priority for my self care.”

Ginny

“Thank you for holding this group and inviting me into the community. When I found you, I was at a really low point in my motherhood journey and since then I’ve been so grateful for the support and inspiration that you and this group have given me”

Michelle

“I attended your postpartum support group at WMN space a few months ago with my doula and my daughter.  Unfortunately I had to return to work shortly after finding your group.  I wish I had found it sooner because it was one of the most therapeutic and helpful things I did during my postpartum struggles with anxiety and panic.”

Rachel

"This group has been a steady port in the stormy seas of postpartum motherhood. I'm generally the one facilitating and holding space through circles and rituals. Healers needs healers, though. When I needed space held for me, this group was there in so many ways. This last year has certainly been challenging, and these weekly meetings were invaluable for my growth as a new mother of two. Because my mental, emotional and energetic health holds the whole family together. If you've recently had a baby and need support, please consider Life After Birth® I wish I had with my first and am so grateful I did with my second."

Is this group right for you?

Because the After Birth Circle is intentionally small, Molly personally connects with each prospective member before they join.

This is simply an opportunity to share a little about where you are in your motherhood journey, ask questions, and learn more about the group.

Molly will take the time to connect with you, answer your questions, and talk through whether After Birth feels like the kind of support you're looking for right now.
